Emerald

Wow, Ms. Emerald has come a long way! As you can see from her picture, she didn’t come to us in the best shape, but she has made amazing progress during her time with us! Having been dumped in an Oakland park, Emerald was initially quite fearful and shy, having quite a hard time trusting shelter staff and volunteers. But with time, patience, love, and lots of greens she has finally come out of her shell! She went from cowering in the back corner to greeting you at the front of her cage. She could still use some extra time and attention, which is why she is spending some time in a foster home while she waits to find the person that can give her the safe, calm, and loving environment that she needs! Emerald shines bright, and she is excited to become another jewel in your family crown.
