Leroy is a true cuddle connoisseur, and according to his fosters, possibly one of the most affectionate animals we have ever encountered. His enthusiasm for life is matched only by his affectionate nature, and he absolutely thrives on human companionship. He still shows a lot of youthful curiosity, constantly observing and learning very quickly. He loves to bring you his toys and politely ask for you to play with him. Since being in foster care, he has learned to shake and has mastered using his crate for quiet time when he needs to decompress. For the most part, he behaves well on walks and calmly sits by the door, waiting for his harness and leash to be put on in preparation. However, he will need continued training to control his enthusiasm when encountering other dogs or small critters. Leroy is brimming with energy and excitement, which sometimes manifests in an enthusiastic demeanor. He may be a bit jumpy, but it's only because he's overflowing with affection and eagerness to engage with his human friends. Leroy’s adopter should be prepared to work on channeling his exuberance through positive reinforcement and rewards-based training. Due to his size, Leroy may fare best in a home without young children.
