How to adopt a cat from OAS | Sponsor a cat
To adopt, come on by the shelter during our open adoption hours which are Thursdays 12 to 7pm, and Fridays/Saturdays/Sundays from 12 to 3pm, no appointment needed. Alternatively you may submit a completed adoption questionnaire via email. Note that cats listed as “I am in a foster home” are generally not at the shelter and will require emailing in your adoption questionnaire.
Our kitten adoption policy: Kittens who are 5 months old and younger are only adopted in pairs. The only exception is if the kitten is a single kitten without littermates, or comes from a litter with an odd number of kittens (e.g. a litter of 3 kittens) – in these cases, a single kitten may be adopted to a home with another young cat in the home (“Young cat” is not strictly defined. This should be a cat who is active and playful, who will enjoy having a rambunctious kitten in their home. Ideally, the cat is under 3 years old).
Ages: baby = less than 12 months = | young = 1-4 years | adult = 4-7 years | senior = 7+ years
