Are you looking for a dog for your dog? Timid, gentle, supermodel Lana might be your gal!
In her life so far, Lana doesn’t seem to have had much of a chance to develop trust with humans, but she does seem open to making dog-friends, so we think she could really blossom in a home with a friendly, gentle fellow canine to show her how to become a pampered human ‘pet.’
House-trained and crate-trained, Lana is very independent. She won’t get on your furniture or follow you around, and she could work well for a quiet home where there IS a fenced yard and where daily dog walking might be more of a challenge.
Lana has a soft mouth when treats are offered, loves head rubs when she’s in her safe zone, has been respectful of her cranky senior Chihuahua foster sister, and so far quietly observes the cats in the household as they pass by. She’ll need regular food puzzles to solve and toys she can delicately pick the stitches out of to keep her intelligent and sensitive mind occupied, but it may be a while before she’s comfortable enough with humans to learn new tricks.
We think she has great potential to be incredibly rewarding for the right home, one where she can be allowed to grow into a new and improved relationship to humans and the bigger world on as gradual of a timeline as she might require.
