This beautiful girl was dumped outside our Shelter this morning in the rain. She was too weak to get up and when she was found she was sopping wet, covered in mud and fleas and was freezing. She looked like she was nearly dead. However, she had life in her eyes. We brought her inside, warmed her up, dried her and gave her fluids. Through her thick fur, we could see how thin she was. She started to perk up. After she was warm, we opened a can of wet dog food and her nose began to wiggle. We fed her by hand and despite being exhausted she gulped the food. Later, we gave her a bath and brushed out her fur and dried her completely. And, to our astonishment, she suddenly stood up on her wobbly legs, wagged her tail and walked down the hallway! She’s definitely a fighter and she looks like she’ll make a full recovery!
11/9/11: Sadly this beautiful girl had to be euthanized. She had severe pneumonia and a major problem with her esophagus. She was treated at PETS Emergency but her condition was too serious to turn around.
