This is Miles. He was left in a box out side the Shelter yesterday. He was so matted that he couldn’t see, hear or walk. His legs were wrapped in thick layers of fur and his nails had grown so long that they had curled into his pads. ACA Pi, a professional groomer, immediately went to work on him to relieve him from his fur wrapped mummified state! However, he was in so much pain that he ended up having to be sedated for the procedure. After hours of work, little Miles was uncovered! His skin was very badly infected with yeast and bacteria and his legs had become misshapen from the tightened matts around his paws and the years of not being able to walk. She gave him a bath which he thoroughly enjoyed – imagine not being able to touch your skin for so long and then getting a warm bath! Little Miles is now getting used to seeing and working on strengthening his legs to walk!
