Update 3/1/11: Sadly, Brewster died last night. He was a truly courageous and the veterinarians had taken wonderful care of him but everything he had been through was just too much from his body. He received lots of love and attention since he was rescued and he is missed.
Update 2/28/11: This is Brewster – two days after he was rescued by Oakland Police Officers. Officers had found him tied to a pole with a telephone chord and a laundry line wrapped around his neck so tightly that he had a huge gash all around his neck and his head was swollen to nearly twice its normal size.
Brewster is now back at the Shelter after being cared for by the staff at VCA Veterinary Clinic. His discounted hospital stay paid for by Friends of Oakland Animal Services.
Brewster still has a lot of healing to do but he’s starting to wag his tail and is getting lots of rest and food to recover.
