We were brought this baby possum by a citizen last night. He said the baby had been left by its mother since early morning until evening. It is important not to immediately assume that a baby animal has been orphaned by its mother if you see it out alone. For example, baby skunks often leave their nest during the day while mom is sleeping and adventure outside to play. This does not mean they need rescue. Before trying to help a baby wild animal, contact Yggdrasil.
We took this baby possum to Yggdrasil last night and it was their first baby possum of the season. They then later had this baby brought to them. Can you guess what it is?

Yggdrasil is our wildlife partner. They care for injured and orphaned wildlife that we get from Oakland and help educate Oakland residents about living humanely with wildlife. Please read about their current struggle to relocate to a new center and the challenges they are trying to overcome. http://yuwr.org/news/
