Katy Perry is a Pit Bull mix that came to OAS in early September as a stray. Spend a few minutes with Katy though, and you’ll soon see that Katy is used to being around people. A warm, big hearted dog, Katy is as people-pleasing and sweet as they come. She is also incredibly smart and as she has patiently been waiting for her forever home, she became increasingly bored and anxious at the shelter. Our great volunteer and staff team did what they could to keep her entertained, exercise her regularly and give her all the attention they could. We suspect that because Katy has cropped ears, her looks have set her back a bit in getting adopted quickly. However, as any dog lover knows, you simply can’t judge a dog’s spirit by its looks. Katy is the definition of a well mannered, playful Pit Bull mix. Don’t let her looks fool you. Even if you do, her heart will charm you in no time.
Last week, a generous volunteer stepped up to take Katy into her home as foster until Katy’s perfect family comes along. Her new foster mom reports that Katy is house trained, crate trained, and as the picture below shows, gets along swimmingly with her new dog friends.
