Oakland Animal Services’ (OAS) Spotlight Series will highlight a different available animal each week leading up to Maddie’s Matchmaker Adoptathon on June 9 and 10. Throughout the weekend, dog and cat adoptions will be free to qualified homes, and, better yet, each successful adoption will earn the shelter a generous donation from Maddie’s Fund from $500 to $2,000.
This week’s Spotlight Series animal is Rhea, a medium-haired calico/Maine Coon mix cat. She is about four years old and has an exquisite multicolored coat that catches your eye. This charming green-eyed feline is sweet, friendly, and loves to be around people. Dogs and even other cats, however, are another matter; Rhea prefers to be the only animal in the house. Rhea is id #07217
Rhea is just one of the many wonderful OAS animals waiting to make a match with you during Maddie’s Matchmaker Adoptathon, which is just one week away. Hours are Saturday, June 9, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday, June 10, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Watch for more information here on the OAS website or come see the shelter—and Rhea—for yourself at 1101 29th Avenue, Oakland, CA.
