This week’s featured animal is King, a silly, bouncy American Staffordshire terrier and French bulldog mix with a lot of name to live up to. A handsome, medium-size adult with a glossy black coat, a white crest on his chest, and ears that you just don’t forget once you’ve seen them, King will take his rightful place in your heart in a moment.
Lovable, energetic, affectionate, and curious, King is all that and more. Exploring and sniffing the big yard, going all out when playing with his human or doggie buddies, or zooming crazily while playing ball, King has all the energy of a young dog one minute and then is snuggling up next to you on the couch the next. He is a happy boy who is eager to please.
King is also one of the longer-term dogs at the shelter. As much of a favorite as he is with staff and volunteers, we’re all hoping for him to find his forever home . . . or, rather, castle . . . very soon. Seek an audience with the King (ID#10071) at Oakland Animal Services.
