UPDATE January 12: Socks is in a foster home! (Reno still needs a foster.)
Socks and Reno have been waiting a long time! Some dogs are more patient while other dogs are more sensitive and just can’t take the shelter but each and every one has their limit. Socks and Reno have reached it.
Reno is a young dog who was surrendered with his sister. His sister was adopted a month ago but Reno is still waiting. He is a sweet, sensitive guy and is beginning to feel the stress of being cooped up in a kennel.
Socks is a special boy who needs a special adopter. When he first came to OAS in August, he was goofy, friendly, outgoing, and loved to cuddle with volunteers. After a lengthy stay, he is becoming stressed and starting to take longer to warm up to new people. Several adoption visits haven’t panned out because he doesn’t connect right away. We are looking for an adopter with a huge heart who will give Socks a chance to settle in, in a real, live home. We suspect that once he is out of the shelter environment, the goofy and cuddly guy we once knew will reemerge and he will bond strongly with his new family. He just needs a chance to prove it!
Are you just waiting for that perfect moment to adopt or have you always thought that maybe helping a shelter dog by fostering might be your thing? Wait no longer. These boys NEED YOU!
