Sam is a big, confident boy who’s ready for pets and scratches and LOVE! He won’t hesitate to flop down at your feet or climb right into your lap and demand affection. He adores playing with wand toys, too, but sometimes gets so excited he tries to eat them. (Sam’s new family should be careful to put the chewable toys away after playtime.)
Sam’s panther sister, Percy, was very upset when the siblings first landed here, having lost the only home they’d ever known through no fault of their own. But we’ve worked to gain her trust, and she’s recently shown her sweet side, though the shelter is still a scary place for her. She may burrow down under her blanket to hide and hiss if you come at her too fast, but move slowly and speak to her softly and sweetly, and she will welcome gentle chin scritches and pets. Treats are also a surefire path to Percy’s heart!
We think Sam and Percy would do well with experienced, patient guardians in a quiet space where Percy will have time to get used to her new surroundings. Don’t worry, though—Sam will be right there to help her gain confidence!
