Juniper
Adopted
Rabbit
Dutch / American / Mixed
Black
Small
2.9 lbs
Female
Tiny little Juniper started off shy, but quickly showed us that her personality matches her appearance: absolutely adorable! Don’t let her small size fool you, there are oodles of spunk in her, and she would make an amazing addition to any household. She would do well with kids and families, with a perfect balance of playful and docile energy.
Some notes from Juniper's foster:
"Juniper is a quiet, smart, curious bunny. She comes up to say hi when I enter her room, and when I sit down she comes up for sniffs and at times grooms me (especially at night). She likes to be pet, but can startle easily, so just know she may jump back the first week.
The first two days she was quite scared, running away, staying in the closet, thumping. (She is a fast little thing.) My house is noisy, barking dogs, etc. She eventually got use to the noise and got use to my partner who helps with bunny care. With time, I think she will become even more relaxed and friendly, because she has a brave curious side.
Juniper prefers to sleep and sit out in the open, and it is the cutest thing to see her flop down on her side when she is relaxing. But, I provide her with boxes and tunnels to feel safe.
She is a very clean bunny, grooming is a favorite past time of hers. And she is thoroughly litter-box trained.
She loves flowers in her hay, bamboo sticks, and, of course, carrots. While feeding her evening treats I either have her come to my lap (to encourage bonding) or place them in her stacking cups. She adores playing with her stacking cups! I can hear her playing with them at night.
She is free-roaming in my extra bedroom, and since she is a bunny, I have caught her chewing her tunnel and the rug for a sec. But, I don’t see any chew marks on my baseboard or table. So, minimal chewing. But, you do need to bunny-proof your electrical cords. (She figured out my blocking system, but now I have her beat. No way can she get to the cords.)"
