Zip is a sweet, loving, energetic pup. He is very affectionate and attentive with people he knows. His love language is snuggle time and touch. Zip likes to be close to his people, following them around the house with eager curiosity, but initially, he can be very wary of new humans and situations.
In his short term foster home, Zip was also super zippy! He has a lot of puppy energy, but he's learning to be calm and channel all the energy into fun play. While he aspires to be the king of lap dogs, he is also learning that chilling near his people for solo naps is pretty great too. He'll make a great WFH buddy.
- Seems to be potty trained or close (only a few accidents)
- Knows 'sit' and 'down' - and understands 'no' and 'off'
- Active, bouncy, and agile - loves to play with toys and play tug-o-war. Bonus - he isn't really a chewer so no destroyed toys (or shoes)!
- Big puppy energy - he's working on channeling it for good fun
- Smart and quick to learn - Very enthusiastic about positive reinforcement training
- Food-motivated - LOVES treats, so great for training
- Appears to be crate-trained - he's been fine staying in his crate for short breaks during the day and sleeps through the night
- Can be a little mouthy - not like a puppy, more like little nibbles when excited. He is easily redirected and understands 'no'
Access to a yard and a low-traffic neighborhood would be ideal for Zip. Zip can be nervous when out in the world and he's had leash reactivity both with people and other dogs while out on walks. He's looking for an adopter committed to continuing his positive reinforcement training to help him blossom into the best pup he can be. He has SO much love to give!
