In Greek mythology, Calliope is the muse of epic poetry, inspiring great tales of adventure and spellbinding gods and men alike with her melodious voice. This Calliope is the muse of more modest pursuits—curling up with a cup of tea and a good book with her snuggled by your side, perhaps, or listening to her soft chirping as she watches birds from the window.
The gorgeous young calico was living in someone's back yard when she had her litter of kittens, and they kindly brought Calliope and her brood to the shelter so she could raise her babies safe from the winter weather. Now that her little ones are off on their own epic adventures, Calliope is ready to start a new chapter of her own. A petite 2-year-old, she is as gentle and sweet as can be, and wants nothing more than to be by your side purring softly as you pet her, or taking a nap together on a rainy afternoon.
Calliope does have a sensitive tummy which is easily upset by regular cat food, but has been doing well on a special kibble made to minimize gastrointestinal issues. We recommend continuing with this food after adoption, as well as consulting with your own veterinarian to make sure her digestion and nutrition are on track.
Are you ready to make Calliope your muse? Stop by to meet her during our no-appointment adoption hours—and prepare to be captivated!
