Meet Anika, a young Shepherd mix with a gentle heart and eyes full of hope. At 68 lbs, she may be large, but she’s all love and softness! This sweet girl has been steadily building her confidence in playgroups, where she’s blossoming into a playful, relaxed pup, enjoying gentle chase games and making friends with other easygoing dogs.
Though she will be shy at first, Anika is learning that the world is full of kind people and fun experiences—especially when string cheese is involved (her absolute favorite treat!). She’s making progress every day, warming up to gentle petting and beginning to seek out affection from patient handlers. Anika does best when given time and space to adjust to new things at her own pace, and she’s looking for a family who can continue helping her grow with plenty of love and positive reinforcement. Anika will clearly be someone’s special heart dog-)
Anika would thrive in a quiet home where she can relax and decompress, whether that’s with a gentle, social doggy sibling or as a solo pup with calm dog friends.
