Meet volunteer favorite Simba, the big dog in a small dog body! Results of the DNA test are still pending but our money is on this athletic boy turning out to be at least part Jack Russell Terrier--one of his nicknames around the shelter is Tigger because he can bounce like he has springs in his feet. This boy LOVES to run and chase the ball, and he is FAST! He is a playful pup who is affectionate with volunteers, loves a good butt scratch, and is food motivated. He gets along well with other small dogs at the shelter, gently correcting the more boisterous ones.
Sweet Simba is looking for an experienced adopter with a fenced yard where he can get in his exercise while he builds his confidence and learns that he is safe. When meeting new people, Simba sometimes takes to people right away and other times can be nervous and bark. For this reason, he needs slow introductions to new people and environments.
Are you looking for a best buddy who just needs some patience while he decompresses? The rewards of helping a nervous pup relax into being the sweetest silliest boy are enormous!
