Avril is a beautiful 3-year-old, 48-pound husky mix with a gentle soul. She’s learning to trust and feel safe, showing glimpses of her sweet personality.
Avril recently went on a field trip, and she absolutely shined! She was cautious about getting into the car but warmed up quickly and stayed quiet and calm, content looking out the window. On leash, Avril is a joy. She walks politely, occasionally twirling with excitement, and frequently checks in to make sure you’re still with her. She passed people and dogs with ease, showing curiosity but no reactivity, and even charmed a barista with her friendly, affectionate nature.
She’s sensitive and may do best with a patient, experienced adopter who can help her continue building confidence. She learned “sit,” seeks physical closeness, and seems like the type to form a deep bond with her person. In shelter playgroups, she does best with calm, well-matched dogs. She could thrive as a solo dog or with the right canine companion.
If you’re looking for a soulful dog who’s ready to blossom into your loyal, playful sidekick, Avril might be just your match.
