Meet Mermaid, a stunning 4-year-old Shepsky as graceful as her name suggests. At just 45 pounds, she’s a great mid-size companion for someone who appreciates both serenity and a solid game of fetch.
Found wandering in Oakland, Mermaid immediately showed her loving nature. She’s friendly, affectionate, and loves spending time with humans. She's comfortable in the car and is easy on leash in calm settings.
On a recent field trip to UC Berkeley, Mermaid was a sweetheart with every person she met, soaking up pets and handling crowds like a pro. She showed some excitement and energy around other dogs in the busy environment, but she wasn’t fazed by the small animals nearby and responded well to basic commands with treats and encouragement. Mermaid may take some time to adjust to new situations, but she’s eager to please and full of love.
At the shelter, Mermaid enjoys the company of gentle, mellow dogs and prefers to avoid high-energy playmates. She’s social in a respectful way and would do well with another dog or as a solo pet.
If you're looking for a loyal, affectionate companion with a gentle soul, Mermaid might be your match!
